Home Remodel with Jeff Swanson Associates
Eugene Bolitho built the original house around 1940 to 1942. WWII was waging, gas was expensive and materials were scarce, so Eugene and his co-workers from Coors hand dug the basement after shifts and used a team of horses pulling a skid to haul the dirt away.
After nearly 70 years this home was due for an update! The current owners, a family of four, needed more space and a sewer system that worked. With the constant care the original home demanded, the owners looked for the use of low maintenance materials and sustainable products.
The square footage of the new floor plan nearly doubled with the addition of the second floor, including the master suite and home office, two car garage and the basement expansion providing a guest suite with the extra ceiling height that was not obtainable for the original builder. Many of the existing feature of the original home were updated and still give the home its modern but yet rustic charm.
